Billboard Blitzz!!! 2-16

Grammy Power
Bad news for new albums, the Grammy's were in town and the music buying public is not obsessing about the nominees and winners. Next week will show the greatest affect from the Grammys, documenting the week of sales immediately following Sunday's show, but the show's weight is already apparent. Yep the Top 20 looks pretty grim, as horrid albums by Biebs and The Black Eyed Peas rue their ugly head once more along with other top selling artist. The only debut to land in the Top 20 this week were country duo Thompson Square, while last week's new releases disappeared from memory. It's a cruel chart this week, but next week's could be crueler.

20. The Black Eyed Peas The END
19. Kid Rock Born Free
18. R. Kelly Love Letter
17. Lady Antebellum Need You Now
16. Kidz Bop 19
15. Thompson Square Thompson Square

13. Katy Perry Teenage Dream

10. Justing Bieber My Worlds Acoustic
Oh Lemmy, here we fucking go. So all the little Bielbers out there ran out and bought more of Justin's fucking albums thinking he was gonna fucking score the Best New Artist at the Grammys. Well Biebs went home empty handed luckily, but he did sell a shit ton of albums in the process with two entries in the Top 10. This particular Biebs gem has been on the charts for 12 weeks and skyrocketed from #47 last week. We're of course not going to watch some horrible Justin acoustic number but instead hear from Cut Copy's new album Zonoscope.

Very Beatle-y in my opinion. I like it though, fun poppy sort of song. Enjoyable, band seems to be having a harmonically good time. The vocals fades really remind me of Lennon on stuff like "Strawberry Fields", lol is that Ringo on the drums. Beatles really didn't have a keyboard presence though.

9. Rihanna Loud
While Taylor Swift has fallen out of the Top Ten, in her 13th week Rihanna is still hanging in there. I should add that she looked fucking amazing at the Grammy's last Sunday, and to prove it why don't we take a look at her performance.

Kinda killed two birds with one stone here since Eminem is on the charts too. Ignore the Spanish guys at the beginning, they go away. Solid performance from Rihanna and Em, as I said last week I think this doctor song is pretty lame; especially when Dre has so little lines.

8. Jason Aldean My Kinda Party
I feel like Jason hasn't gotten a whole lot of love here at the Billboard Blitz, and he deserves it seeing as he's in this 15th week and still moseying around the Top Ten 10. Let's give his party another chance and hear another track off his new album.

I've always liked Kelly Clarkson so it's nice seeing her crop up here. As far as Country ballads go, I think this ones a winner. Nothing spectacular, but everything is done to such perfection on the songwriting and singing, definitely not a throw away number either. I'll stay a little while.

7. Eminem Recovery
A lot of people thought Grammy night was going to be a big cash in for Eminem, that was not the case though Em did go home with two awards (after being nominated in 10 categories (ouch)). He's in a long 34 weeks on the charts and will probably be high next week with Grammy fever in full rage. Else where on the charts, James Blake is making noise at the #123 spot with his first self titled studio album. Music nerds are gushing all over the internet for this dude, so have a listen.

The hype seems justified, that song is incredible. Now the problem is figuring out what the limit to my love of this song is.

6. Bruno Mars Doo-Wops & Hooligans
Week 19 for Bruno who as just sentenced to 200 hours of community service and a $2,000 fine for being caught with 2.6 grams of cocaine in Las Vegas this past September. This won't hurt his career in the slightest, and as proof even here at Muse-Zach we'll watch his new video.

That's right, pull that piano bitch. Favorite scene is when the Mexican gangsters get in his face, "what?" As for the song, it's actually really good. Bruno's got definite songwriting skills and right now he's riding a major wave of popularity. Ride on man.

5. Pink Greatest Hits....So Far!!
Week 13 for Pink and she has a new video out for her new single so I guess we'll take a look at that.

A sad song here from prego Pink. She always writes great songs full of real emotion, whether they're sentimental or rocking out. Props to the chick for cutting perfect into her arm, imagine finding your daughter dead in the tub with that sketch into her arm. Fucked up, good thing she figured that shit out.

4. Nicki Minaj Pink Friday
Last week's Billboard queen didn't far too far, but her outfit at the Grammy's was pretty awful. It's her 12th week on the charts and she doesn't look to be fading anytime soon; seems like everywhere I go she's on the radio. Farther down the charts, a band called Over The Rhine's new album debuted at #63. I've never heard of this band before but their Wiki page says they've performed with John Prine, Bob Dylan, Lucinda Williams, and My Morning Jacket......so, I'm definitely curious.

Good, full moving song here. Like a woman is slowly walking down a bricked road as the sun sets, her lover a few paces ahead. Will she beckon him back? Probably have to buy the album to find that out. From the sound of this sampe it could be a worthy answers.

3. Justin Bieber My World 2.0
Here's that little (let's play adverbs, you pick a word to go here) again. Just as the Jonas Brothers have begun the fun process of fading from the public's memory, I am confident that you shall too Justin. Sadly this album has been on the charts for 47 weeks now, and jumped up this week from the #17 position. To please the Bieber masses we'll watch his Grammy performance with Usher and Will Smith Jr.

You should have left him in that dam parking lot Usher (yeah!). Lol, ninjas finally make their long waited debut at the Grammys and it's fucking dancing back up to Beibs. Dear God, why the fuck is he rapping with Jaden Smith. So fucking ridiculous, but I guess kids want to have fun at the Grammys and we need to humor them. Biebs can sing decently.....but, his songs make my skin crawl. Usher will have to teach Justin all those different ways to love a woman, oh my gosh!

2. Mumford and Sons Sigh No More
Mumford and Son's album has been on the charts just as long as Beb's, and thanks to the Grammy's they've climbed to the #2 spot on the charts, they're highest position to date. This is a great band with a great cd, but since we've heard all the singles on the Blitz already, we're gonna have a Christian Rock helping from Jesusfreak Hawk Nelson. Guess you didn't love Jesus enough to debut any higher than #87. Maybe next time, keep praying.

Light rock rap shit proclaiming that Christians might look crazy to the rest of the world but it's only cause they got crazy love for Jesus, and Jesus has crazy love for the. Need some Faith+1, after this nonsense.

1. NOW 37
Ok, ok, I know this is technically a new release, even though it's a glorified mix cd containing pop radio's favorite songs of the past month or two. There are some good songs on here, and lots of shit ones....hmmm I guess we can hear a song by Pitbull since I'm not a 100% sure I know who the fuck Pitbull is, but mostly because T-Pain is featured on the track and I think T-Pain is funny. Hmmm, that makes me wonder, is Lil John still making music?

Ohh so that's Pitbull, no I remember. Wonder what T-Pain sounds like without auto-tune. So this song is really shitty club bounce music. Dime a dozen and this shit ain't anywhere near the top of the barrel. What's that Pitbull, you say you're a super successful badass who wants to get with fine bitches? Really profound revelations here.

What ever happened to.....last week's Top Ten?
