Horrible, horrible news yesterday as the White Stripes announced they are calling it quits (why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). We are all very sad here at Muse-Zach, seeing as how we loved the White Stripes and never got to see them fucking perform live. We all though 2011 was going to be the return of their big return, with Jack mentioning in interviews how he and Meg where putting stuff together. Well that ain't fucking happening now, and I'm pretty fucking unhappy about it for several reason, but especially:
1. No new album
2. No tour

Some bloggers and music fans are discussing how classy they went out and who right the band are to say the music belongs to the fans now. Those people are idiots, because the message is just written in niceties to give no real information other than The White Stripes are no more. No definite reasons are given, though a few non-reasons are listed (suspicious). What really makes me sad though, besides the fact that they may never play together again (don't even try telling me they defiantly will cause you don't fucking know), is how lackluster their end really was. Sure they released a monster album in 2007 with Icky Thump (love it), but it's been all down hill since than. First Meg cancelled their tour because of anxiety problems (a tour I had fucking tickets for), unknowingly ending the group as a touring unit. Than Jack did a ton of shit including working with his two other bands to tour and release albums, while Meg......randomly appeared at a Raconteurs concert and didn't play a note. Next the group played their last gig on the last episode of Late Night With Conan O'brien; the performance was horrid and sucked. Last they released a new documentary and live album......Not really going out in a blaze of glory.
So why we mourn the loss of the White Stripes, one has to wonder why did they break up. Was Jack just not that interested anymore with his hand in so other many musical cookie jars, or was Meg.......hmmmm....being difficult? I dunno maybe she did something, didn't want to tour or who knows.

Man im pissed too. I had tickets to go see them in Chicago, i live in NC, if that tells you anything. I think its pretty much Meg's doing, though, she probably pissed Jack off with her obvious procrastination and anxiety issues. I'm not saying shes lying or faking it, shes probably for real but it is what it is and now its all over, just like that. No farewell show or performance, nothing. I'm Pissed!
