Billboard Blitz!!! Feb 23

Grammys, what evil has thou brought to the Top 10?

Dam you America, the Billboard Top 10 has gotten stale and boring because you refuse to expand your musical horizons and instead keep buying the same ole albums. Covering the Billboard Top 20 over the past few weeks, the same names keep holding strong, while new albums are being locked out. So this week we have the Grammy's impact, as the winners and nominees roar back into the Top 20. Every album in the Top 10 corresponds to and artist(s) having performed on the Grammy's live telecast. Only one debut was able to crack the Top 10, while two more found their way in the Top 20.

20. R. Kelly Love Letter
19. Florence and The Machine Lungs
18. Justin Bieber My Worlds Acoustic
17. Hillsong United Aftermath
16. Jason Aldean My Kinda Party
15. Taylor Swift Speak Now
14. Pink Greatest Hits...So Far
13. Bright Eyes The People's Key
12. Arcade Fire The Suburbs
11. Katy Perry Teenage Dream

10. Rihanna Loud
Week 14 for Rihanna, and after a rocking Grammy performance the red head is still standing strong in the Top 10. Rihanna is also making web news appearing in Kanye West's new video "All of the Lights", and has announced dates for her spring North American tour. As much as I've been hating on Mr. West, let's watch "All of the Lights".

Awe, that was awesome. Such an amazingly produced video. It's like I said before, can't go wrong with having Rihanna sing the chorus on the song. Now I've been hard on Kanye's lastest album, but dammit I'm ready to admit when I was wrong, and while I still hate a lot of Kanye's songs (no need to mention hating his celebrity with a passion) this song is georgous. Maybe they were all right after all, maybe My Dark Twisted Fantasy is a good album after all.

9. Nicki Minaj Pink Friday
Slipping 5 spots, Nicki's Pink Friday is still on the calendar after 13 weeks. Rather than look at another Pink Friday moment, let's drop 10 and hear a track from Florence and The Machine. The Grammy's have certainly helped Florence, rising from 28 to 19 in the group's 38th week on the charts.

Pretty good song, wild pipes this girl no doubt has. Certainly not as good as "Dog Days are Over" but you can't really expect it to be. Top marks.

8. Justin Bieber My World 2.0
My, oh my, Justin Bieber will not fucking go away, he's fucking everywhere. On the radio, the tv, int he theatres, on magazines (cover of Rolling Stones this month) and I can't hide from it (did you see his new haircut?). Sadly Bieber has four albums in this week's Top 40, the first time this has happened since Garth Brooks pulled it off in 1990s (tour Minnesota Garth). Of course we're not going to listen to anymore Bieber bullshit, instead we'll hear from Hillsong United who's new album debuted at #17 this week. Entirely no idea who Hillsong United are (rap group, R and B singers?) so let's look at Wiki. Be right back.........God dammit, their a fucking Austrailian worship band (lol worship band), and this is their third and highest charting album. So, sigh, I guess we'll have a listen......

It's got a fun pop-in-fresh techno beat, but the verses are so fucking worshipy cliche. Man can't you people find new and interesting ways to worship your fucking God? Jesus certainly is not pleased.

7. 2011 Grammy Nominees
Of course the Grammy Nominee cd was going to sell well this week. In honor of the Grammys let's from.....fuck it, here's the new TV on the Radio single.

Oustanding as always boys. This band is so fucking talented it's scary.

6. Eminem Recovery
Em has been on the charts for 35 weeks, up one spot from last week. Alot of rap writers and music executives are coming to his back saying how he and hip hop were disrespected at the Grammys...fucking idiots. Anywho, here is a new leaked track from Eminem and B.O.B.

I remember back in the early 2000s when I actually enjoyed Eminems "funny" rap songs with outrageous rhymes and lots of name dropping of current celebrities. Sadly (no, not really) those days are over, I'm not sure if I just grew up and found that sort of rap medium stupid or juvenille, or Eminem lost his ability to replicate those early LOLs. Either way this track is really just a waste of my listening time.

5. Bruno Mars Doo-Woop and Hooligans
Week 20 and still high in the Top Ten, the Grammys were good to Bruno too. Let's abandon him and have a listen to Bright Eyes, who's new album has emerged at #13.

Slow and emotionally building, Conor gets his agnst going. I must say I do like the sadness of the song, but I don't really get into it because I feel no attachement for that sadness to explicit things. Vaugness and over arching remarks haunt this track to less appeal, at least for me.

4. Lady Antebellum Need You Now
54 weeks on the charts, the country trio rose this week from #17 to #4. The big, big winner for the Grammys, and hardly anyone is talking about them. Everyone is chatting about Arcade Fire's Best New Album, who is Esperanza Spalding, and who Eminem and Justin Bieber got cheat (oh and how the Grammys are racist and don't give enough attention to Hip Hop (bullshit)). Meanwhile an outstanding Country act is having a monster year, and receiving little pats on the back outside of their musical genre; no love in music big magazines, blogs, etc. We'll give them a little love today.

Not a bad little tune. I can relate, I love honey.

3. Now 37
Who is Esperanza Spalding? Well let's discover out Best New Artist with out eyes and hears.

While it may not be the kind of music I would regularly listen to, this is quite good. She's definatelty more talented than Mr. Bieber.

2. Mumford and Sons Sigh No More
Holding strong, Mumford and the boys remain #2 for the second week in a row. Way to go boys, you're a great band. I'm feeling a bit scatter brained today, let's watch the new Linkin Park video.

Not really feeling the video till the end. Good song though, it's a new direction for LP but I dig it man.

1. Justin Bieber Never Say Never: The Remixes
Idiots. Buying fucking Justin Bieber albums, fine, fine, you're not idiots, you're allowed (and should) to purchase any kind of music you want, it just makes my skin crawl. Ah well, let's watch......"Moves" by the New Pornographers. Wonder if Justin reads much porn?

Fuck, I love this song.
