Billboard Blitz!!!!! Jan 19

Sweet 16

16 weeks at #1, way to Adele the sitting queen of 2011 and music in general. This weeks Top 10 (and even Top 200) looks a lot like last weeks, with very few releases climbing onto the charts.

10. NOW 40
In the world of iTunes and downloading, why are people still buying these record company mix CDs? Anyway, Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.i.am has a solo album coming out soon and to promote it he's released a brand new single from the album featuring Mick Jagger and Jennifer Lopez (WTF). So I'm curious to hear this track cause Jagger is on it but very afraid because it's a Will.i.am song and also features Jenny from the block. Jesus, here we go.

Ok.....sad that Jagger didn't show up until the 3:30 mark in a 4:45 min song, or maybe that's a good thing as he mercifully trys to make me forget I've just listened to another shitty Will.i.am song. Wasn't as scary awful as I thought though. I think J-Lo was once hot, but not here.

9. Nickelback Here And Now
Week 8 on the charts for the Canadian rockers, and while the critics continue to hate their guts many a music fan continues to purchase their albums.

Eh, has a nice message.

8. Coldplay Mylo Xyloto
Hey it's another band massive amounts of people vocally hate enjoying their 12th week on the charts with their 5th album. Let's check out their latest single, named after an old comic page pal of mine.

I like this one.

7. Rihanna Talk That Talk
Speaking of Coldplay, they'll be performing with this naughty girl at the Grammys this year. Here's her latest single with another Coldplay friend, Jay-Z.

Not the best song in the world, but who doesn't enjoy a little Rihanna from time to time.

6. Young Jeezy TM:103: Hustlerz Ambition
I dunno, Young Jeezy is 34 at what point do we just start calling him Jeezy. Lil Bow Wow made the change when he stopped being Lil, but than again Kid Rock is 41 (although he still often acts like a kid). Only time will tell.

Andre totally stole this song.

5. Snow Patrol Fallen Empires
It's winter people and that means Snow Patrol is out doing their thing and dropping their 6th album.

Decent light tune.

4. Drake Take Care
Sorry Drake but I don't care this week, let's talk about Lana Del Ray for a minute. Her debut album was released in America this past week and if you happened to watch SNL last Saturday....you saw her god awful performance. Personally I know very little about Ms. Del Ray except acknowledging her hotness and seeing her choke on SNL days later thanks to Hulu. Because of the poor performance it was hard to judge the song she sang, so let's compare.

Adele she is not.

Voice is a 100 times richer and fuller in the video, song is alright.

3. The Black Keys El Camino
Here's a rock band the critics like, and in their 6th week on the charts the Ohio duo is still riding high with a great new album. But let's step away from the Keys and talk about Rebelution, a reggae band on the charts with their 4th studio album. I've never heard of this California group before, but that's what we're here for children; to learn.

Was really expecting a bit more in the reggae department for atmosphere but maybe this is just one of their lighter tunes. Not bad.

2. David Crowder Band Give Us Rest
The David Crowder Band is a six-peice Christian modern worship band (huh?) from Waco, Texas, and I've never ever heard of them (thanks for the opening info Wiki). Apparently this is their 9th and final studio album, as well as being their first time in the Billboard Top Ten (they barely missed it in 2009). So...ya, modern worship music my ears are already buzzing with anticipation.

Dam you David Crowder. I give you optimism and you stabb me in the fucking hear with your pointed cross of Christian talking points disguised as ready freindly pop-rock. I'm glad this is your last album, though I perdict you will reunited in a few years and call your comeback album Resurrection.

1. Adele 21
16 weeks tying The Titanic Soundtrack's 1998 record for the most weeks at #1 since SoundScan began tracking the Billboad 2000.

45. The Little Willies
59. Steve Aoki
61. Dailey and Vincent
