Classic Rock Tours Coming in 2012
The Eagles
To celebrate their 40th anniversary, The Eagles are looking to fly again in 2012 and guitarist Joe Walsh says the band is looking to upscale their stage show and setlist for the milestone. I've never seen the Eagles, but hopfully I won't be able to say that in 2013.
Black Sabbath
On 11-11-11, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward announced the reunion of Black Sabbath. The legendary rockers plan to launch a world tour in 2012 (some Europen dates are already up) and are working on a new album with producer Rick Rubin they hope to have out by next fall. I for one am super excited to see these guys. SABBATH!!!
Van Halen
Rumors are rolling that the Roth and the Van Halen brothers are looking to relaunch in 2012 with a new album and a new tour. Will it actually happen? Well we do know the band signed a record contract with Interscope Records last month, but than again they did miss a performance at the Grammy Nomination Party. Hope for them in 2012, but don't hold your breathe.
Simon and Garfunkel
After having to cancel their tour in 2010 due to Garfunkel suffering from vocal cord paresis, Art seems to be recovering well and there are small rumors budding that they old friends could be back on the road in 2012. Please be true, I need to see these two amazing performers before its too late.
KISS
Rock legends KISS are planing a big 2012 by releasing their 20th studio album Monster, and going on a world tour in support of it. Hopefully Monster is as good as Sonic Boom, despite the album standing in piles in Wal-Marts all around the country, it actually is a good disc.
Fleetwood Mac
Last May, Stevie Nicks pleased fans by announcing that Fleetwood Mac would hit the road in 2012 and might release a new album. It would be the band's first tour since 2009. Hopefully they come to Minnesota.
Bruce Springsteen
Following the death of saxaphone player Clarence Clemons last June, the status of Bruce Springsteens legendary backing band, The E Street Band, seemed to be in question. Bruce layed those questions to rest a few weeks ago announcing a new album and a new tour in 2012 with the band. Awesome news, Bruce always puts on a great show. Let's just hope the new album is more Magic and less Working On a Dream.
The Rolling Stones
2012 marks the Stones' 50th anniversary, an unbelievable milestone and one that has many fans claiming for a new world tour. While the Stones insist they currently have no plans for the anniversary, save the reissue of their 1978 album Some Girls, a band meeting in London a few weeks back and a jam session planned for later this month is only fueling the fire. Mick and the boys haven't been on the road since the end of their Bigger Bang Tour in 2007, here's hoping they return next year.
